is higher resolution better quality?

hi everyone, i have a question regarding the resolution of my screen...is the higher the better quality, thanks..p.s my vid card is in my sig.

Yeah but if you crank the resolution on games with really ugly textures, the overall quality wont go up that much. Play cs 1.6 at 1600x1200 then do the same with source, whole different world.

go from 800x600 to 1600x1200 and you will see the difference, its blatently ugly at 800x600 seeing as you can see EVERY pixel on the arm or w/e

Well, this higher resolution, the better space and look you have.

640x480 or 800x600 is way too cramped in...and it get crappy.

I find that 1024x768 with 2x Anti Aliasing or 1280x1024 with no anti aliasing is very acceptable. I can barely see the pixelation at 1024x768, but even without the aa at 1280x1024, I can't see it at all.

well, so far I got my screen at 1600x1024 at 60hz!!!!, LG tells me that it can only go to 1280x1024 I guess there wrong. But I have mine at 1024x768 beuase it runs at 85hz!!! 1280x1024 @ 60hz!!. I have a CRT Flat Screen!

Yeah those 17" Crts suck, can only do 60Hz at 1280x1024.. my 19" can run 1280x1024 @ 85Hz

You should be able to do 1280x960 at 70Hz..
