Default Help with wireless router please!

First time poster here,so please pardon my computer illiteracy.I bought my daughter a Dell laptop for Christmas!A couple days ago I bought a Netgear wireless router at Bestbuy.I have DSL internet with a modem,When I got the router home and got ready to install it I realized I have a USB internet port on the back of my Four year old Dell desktop computer.I cannot find a ethernet port on the back of my Desktop CPU anywhere. The instructions for the router say to hook the phone line into the back of the modem, run a ethernet cable from the modem to the router, then run another ethernet cable from the router to the back of my desktop computer. Is there any cables available that allow me to go from a ethernet port to a USB port?Do I have to take my CPU somewhere and have a Ethernet port installed?Or am I totally screwed on the wireless?Ay ideas ,suggestions ,or help would be greatly appreciated.

you can go pick up an ethernet card for less than 20 bucks and it installs into a pci slot inside your computer. It's cheap and easy.

Basically mike,

You will need a nic (network interface card) for the computer you are connecting the router to and also a wireless card maybe a pcmcia for the laptop or a usb one, unless the laptop has wireless built in, which will be good, so you really just need to get a nic. which is an ethernet card. they are 20.
