Default Help with webpage?

I am currently designing a page. I have got it mostly sorted, but I would like to know how to do the following:

Scenario: (it's a sport competition site)
On the homepage I have updated news etc and would like to have a "Who plays next week:" on there so that it says "Team 1 V Team 2 Bye: Team 3" or something. Instead of editing the page every week it would be easier for me to upload a .txt file containing the data. How do I get a page to read a text file? Example: www.example.com/index.html is the homepage and I have a txt file stored at www.example.com/text.txt, how can I get the homepage to read the text file?

All help is much appreciated,
