help with usb ports???

i have a hp pavilion a1410y desktop that is about three years old. windows was corrupt so i ordered a set of recovery disc's from hp. when i finally got them to install, my pc is slower than before and my usb ports do not work. i called hp and they sent me a new set of disc's so i did recovery again with the same results. is it possible that my motherboard is bad. my cpu runs 100% all the time and the device manager says that my usb ports are all working but they are not. thanks for any help!

You probably need to update the usb drivers. Go to the HP website and look up your model and get the updated usb drivers.
