Help Quick Wanna Get This Done!

ok so this is more of a reasurance to me b/c i don't wanna screw sumthing up... but all i have to do to replace the chipset fan on my MOBO is buy one and take the old one off, clean off the thermal paste, and put the new one on right? and they don't have 2 be the same kind of fan right? thanx

yes. but be sure to apply some new thermal paste

srry for the double post and all but heres the deal...i took my old busted fan off of my mobo. it was mounted via plastic prongs through the mobo. well i just looked at my replacment fan and it is only has an adhesive layer. will my thermal paste affect this? i don't really know were to go from there

Get all the thermal paste on, and just stick it straight on, dont put paste on if its got that layer, that white layer acts as thermal paste.
