Default help please

if i use the repair feature on an hdd that nearly ALL the hardware is the same EXCEPT the mobo and possiby the processor will i have to reactivate? and is there any way to upgrade the comp without reactivation.

I think windows recognizes a different mobo as a "drastic" hardware change. If you have used up all you activations, you can call up Microsoft, go through a long process with a voice-recognition system, which eventually gives you a new activation code. It's not too fun.
