help please

hi all,

i am trying to find a lead to connect my laptop to tv,i currently have a vga to dvi which does not supply the sound,is there a cable that is a vga to component,i know i could just connect up speakers to the tv but to be honest i have enough s**t around it at the mo.if anyone can help or suggest something else it would be much appreciated

what you need is a card that supports your component. ATI's all in wonder cards are good for this kind of thing. VGA does not transmit sound. I have never herd of a vga to component so you wont be finding that I don't think.

yea. just hook up the speakers to the sound card.
i dont know of any laptop that has a decent enough vid card to do this (i may be wrong)

what sort of TV do you have? standard TV, HDTV (plasma, LCD, or DLP Rear projection TV)?

Even if you had a VGA to componet cable, VGA/DVI/RGB does not output sound they only output viideo, so the only way to do it like the others have said is through the sound card, tell us what sort of TV you have and we could help you further.
