Help Please?

Sorry im a noob.... Umm I was tryin to get this help for a friend so he could play with me... he has a Dell Dimension 3000. Oh, and if it wont please recommend a good video card for BF2 within the 100-150$(canadian) range.

Thats a good card that hes willing to buy... but I was wondering if it would work on his MoBo forsure... because in the BF2 requirements it also had
GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
So does the PCIe part mean that the card will only run BF2 if its in a PCIe slot... or will it run in AGP?

this is the specs I found for that computer:

So only a pci slot. And pci graphics cards suck. And if he still has 256mb ram he needs to upgrade it. It would be smart to go for the 1GB (max supported by the mobo)

But I'd just built a new computer. If he wants to play BF2 he needs to upgrade the ram, probably the mobo (and I don't think that u will find any good mobos for that socket, so maybe the processor too), the psu and the graphics card.

So u would be left with the case and maybe the processor. U can use the old processor if u like, but I'd get an socket 939 amd cpu.

Well thats not really an option, because its only a family computer and wasnt initially meant for gaming anyways, he just fell into it. But I need to know if the video card will work???... He has more RAM ordered anyways by the way.

a pci card wont really work for bf2. It will cost your friend alot of money to be able to play with you. Dells are incredibly expensive to upgrade. Sry to be a bummer

even with that card PCI is just awful , and bf2 is a very heavy game to play lol your friends out of luck
