My brother's birthday is coming up, and I decided to get him a new motherboard to replace his old fried compaq motherboard.
I went to Micro Center today to check out motherboards that were the price between $50-$60. These are what I found.
Biostar A780L
Biostar A785GE
MSI K9N6PGM2-V2
Asus M2N68-AM PLUS
Right now I am deciding between the Biostar A785GE and Asus M2N68-AM PLUS. The Biostar A780L can be free if I were to buy a new processor, but I don't have $100 for the processor, and I doubt my brother wants to chip in the extra $50. I added MSI to the list because of my past experience with them, however, the hyper transport can only go up to 1000MT/s.
What will be going into this system would be an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+, single 2GB DDR2 667, Antec Basiq 500W, and a BFG 8800GT.
EDIT - To get the free Biostar A780L motherboard, the processor has to be either the Athlon II x4 640 or the Phenom II X2 560 BE.
