Me and my bro are building a computer but it wont start up. When we turn it on, all of the fans start. Usually there is a beep when you turn on a computer but we arent getting one. Nothing comes up on the monitor. We thought it was because the cpu wasnt getting power at first but we fixed that and it still doesnt work. Does anyone think they know why?

Here are the parts.

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128387

Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130468

Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227290

Hard disk: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284

Case with power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156062

Any suggestions would be welcome.

i had a similar problem once, make sure that you mounted your mobo right and that the back isnt touching metal, or else it will short out. And if it does short out that may blow your cpu 0.0 so check that

Im pretty sure the mobo isnt touching any metal. Is the problem based around the cpu tho?

First of all, I would take everything (but the CPU) out and reseat it. That means pull the vid card and all ram and reseat it. When you reseat it, put just one stick of RAM in. Right off the bat, it could be a dead stick of RAM.

and if that doesn't work well then =[ i guess your SOL, thats all i know what to do

Not necessarily SOL, it'll just be difficult. Cuz if it's not a seating problem or a dead stick of RAM, it'll be hard to test the other components if he doesn't have another system or a friend to test it. But, what can you do. Hopefully it's something small that he overlooked.

Do what dude 56013 said. Try reseating everything, including mobo, ram, video card, and power connections. Use only 1 stick of ram at a time. If 1 doesn't work, try another stick.

Thanks! It was the ram. I guess we didnt put it in right or something. Im making this post on the new comp :p. Thanks again
