so ive done some reading and realized that none of that s**t will work.. lol. so, what i think i want to do is add 4GB of SDRAM, and put in a new hard drive.

i have room, i just had the box open. i just need to know what connection it is on the hard drive. i was told ADA, but on newegg it only says ADA100 and some other ADA s**t.

Your hard drive is a SATA connection so as long as you get an Serial ATA hard drive you'll be fine.
