Motherboard is future proof so ill be keeping it but cpu i fancy a new one anyway

I have seen an AMD FX 8 Core for £154 and wanting to buy it just wondering would it support my motherboard and do i have enough power supply power

I currently have a Corsair 630v fitted i don't want to overload my pc and find out i need to buy a new power supply as i only bought this last friday

if i need a new one then ill just leave the whole idea as im not wasting money

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP HERE IS THE CPU IM WANTING TO PURCHASE.

AMD FX 8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor 4.00GHz Piledriver Socket AM3+ - FD8350FRHKBOX - Scan.co.uk

Your new CPU is an AM3+ and your mobo is FM so no it won't work.

Nevermind, it is AM3+. I confused FM with FX.

Anyway, check your BIOS that it will support it.

Sorry im a rookie at this

What am I checking for in bios

So will it work with my board

If not can someone suggest a better cpu than I have which will support it

It's a BIOS version number and you have to look up the CPU support list at the mobo maker's site. Each CPU has a version number supporting it and your mobo need at least that version to run it. The higher the number the more it'll support.

As to cooling, it's good to have two fans, one intake and one exhaust for the case to promote cooling.
