Hey everyone. I just got a new computer and ran right away to upgrade the RAM. I bought a 512MB PC3200 DDR stick. This brings my computer total to 1024MB of RAM.

Strange thing is when I check the systems properties it shows that the computer is only recognizing 895MB instead of the 1024MB that I know I have in.

Can I release the remainder, and if so how. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

O.

Do you have a 128mb intergrated graphics card? 'Cos they share the system RAM.

1024-128=896

LOL... Yes that seems to be it. Is there a way to let some of it go or will I just have to buy a larger stick of RAM to get the GB that I was expecting?

I think you can reduce the amount of memory the video "card" uses... But, if you play games, don't even think of doing that :D.

In bios, find intergrated graphics, and change memory usage or something like that. Ide change it to 64MB..
