Let me say I know littil to nothing about computer. So I'm buying a new computer from this website www.ibuypower.com. I heard they are legit and won't scam me so thats why i picked it. I want this computer just for myself and too play video games on only. My parents have a shitty old comp that can run everything else. My max bugget is 2k. So here are my specs for my rig.

Tower: Xion Dazl Gaming Tower Case w/420W Power Supply

(I picked this just because it cheap and looks cool lol)

Lighting: None
(wtf do i need lighting for?)

Power supply: 650 Watt -- Corsair CMPSU-650TX Power Supply SLI Ready

(I heard anything over a 500 watt power supply will be fine for anything im doing.)

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8600 2x 3.33GHz/6MB L2 Cache/1333FSB

(I heard duo cores are better then quads for gaming. Is this true? I picked the highest one.)

Processor Cooling: [=== Silent ===] AVC Silent Intel CPU Fan and Heatsink Silent & Overclocking Proof

(I dont overclock so i dont think I need liquid cooling. I just picked it over the standered fan because it silent.)

Motherboard: [SLI] Asus P5N-E SLI nForce® 650i SLI Chipset w/6-channel CODEC, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, IEEE-1394 Dual PCI-E MB

( I had no idea what too pick here. I just went with a cheap one. Should I go for a better one?)

Memory : 4 GB [1 GB X4] DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module

(I heard 2 GB is the lowest you should get. So i doubled it. Question they offer like 4 different brands of 4 GB memory. I picked the cheapest one. Should i go with the more expensive ones and wtf the differents?)

Video Card:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 1GB + TV out video

(I picked the best single card they had. Would i be better off with 2 cheaper cards?)

Video Card Brand:=== High Performance === eVGA Brand Video Card Powered by NVIDIA

(It was 5$ more so i got it, but do i need this ?)

Hard Drive : 500 GB HARD DRIVE [Serial-ATA-II, 3Gb, 7200 RPM, 16M Cache]

(Is this large enough?)

2nd Hard Drive :None

(I dont need one right?)

External Hard Drives [USB 2.0/eSATA]: None

(I dont need one right? Whats this do)

CD/DVD Drive:None

(I dont need one right?)

CD-RW/DVD-RW Drive : [** Special !!! ***] LG 20X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive Black More Options

(Thats good right?)

Sound Card: Creative Lab Sound Blaster Audigy SE

(As long as I can hear I'm fine. I dont need like really crisp sound or anything,)

Speaker System: 600W PMPO 3 PCS Super Bass Subwoofer Speaker System

(Was only 4 bucks more.)

Network Card: Onboard LAN Network (Gb or 10/100)

(I have a cable modem do i need a better card to get the most out of it, or can i get by on the cheap one?)

Floppy Drive:None

(I dont need one right?)

Monitor: [--- Special ---] 20.1" LCD 16:10 Wide WSXGA HD(HDCP) Monitor Support DVI Video up to 1080P(HDMI)

(Seems good for the price.)

2nd Monitor: None

(why would i need a 2nd?)

Keyboard: Logitech Deluxe Keyboard Black

(cheap and i dont care much.)

Mouse: Logitech Optical Internet Mouse Black

(cheap and i dont care much.)

USB 2.0 Accessories: Built-in USB 2.0 Ports

(Is it a good idea to get extra USB ports?)

Meter Display:None

(I dont need one right?)

Flash Media Reader/Writer: 12-In-1 Internal Flash Media Card Reader/Writer Black

(do I need this? whats it do?)

Extras: [Gaming Gear] Logitech Dual Action Gamepad

(I'll need a mouse pad anyway.)

Operation System: MS Windows XP Home Edition w/ Service Pack 2

(I've heard people say XP is ALOT better then vista. Is it worth the extra money or should i go with vista.)

Media Center Remote Control & TV Tuner: None

(I dont need one right? Whats this do.)

USB Flash Drive : None

(I dont need one right? Whats this do.)

Headset: [Gaming Gear] Logitech Precision PC Gaming Headset

(I use this to game.)

Power Protection: ** iBUYPOWER Recommended ** Opti-UPS SS1200-AVR Mighty Voltage Regulator

(They recommened it so i got it. Do i really need this thing?)

BTW one final question. If i wanted to use a router and make my computer work off it will i need to by anything extra? I have a router already my sister uses for her laptop.

My final total was 1,778.00 So i have about 220 bucks to play with.

looks like a good rig

and the only problem i had with i buy power when i bought my lappy from them is there shipping times :(

um, upgrade the motherboard, get one thats only like 20-50 more, mabey a bigger HDD

other than that, use the money for games :D
