Help me get my hardware working

First of all I don't know much about computers. I just installed a fresh version of MS windows and I dont think my video card is working anymore. I think its a Geforce FX 5200 but Im not sure. Also I bought new speakers and I cant get them to work. When I tried to play an audio file windows media player said "Cannot playback the audio stream, no audio hardware is avaliable or the hardware is not responding". I searched for my card and my speakers in a hardware list i found somewhere in my control panel but I couldnt find them. what to do?

Install drivers for the appropriate devices.

If you dont have the drivers goto microsoft upate and under HARDWARE your sound drivers should be there, your graphics card drivers will be atthe NVIDIA website http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp.
