Default help making a startup disk

I need to create a startup disk for my windows ME computer. I tried the startup disk making thingy under add-remove programs in the control panel, but the computer does not find the files, and it does not work with the "format a: /s" command under ms-dos. what do I do. and will a re-installation disk work on the same computer to re-install the os if I use a data removing pogram to scrub my hard drive?

Cool. What about the start up disk. Will a win 98 disk work on win ME? (to run a program to nuke the HD, see my other thread.)

Try Right clicking on youre hardrive and selecting Format, and when that comes up DONT FORMAT, You should see an option that say Create a ms-Dos Start up disk Try that
