I dont know what OS you have, but just do this. Go to Windows help area, and then type in Scandisk. It should tell you how to access it on your OS. If it is Windows ME, then go to system tools under accessories, otherwise, do the help thing above. GL!

No idea, Windows errors are a pain in the ass, and I don't knwo 1/53589234589 of them off the top of my head. Just call up HP, and they will send you recovery disks for your PC, then, problem solved. GL

can I install windows XP in this computer? My son's computer is a HP, windows XP? I have the recovery disk for that one..... I can't find it for mine...

HELP....
ok, I did the scan disk thingy.
it found 32768 byted of data in 1 lost file fragment. what should i do? It is giving me three choices:

1: discard lost file fragments
2: convert the lost file fragment into files
3: ignore this error and continue.

This is a multiple choice ?? Which do I pick?

2, pick 2. Then use recovery disks from your sons PC if this fails.

ok............ here is what it is saying now.

Scan disk found arrors on this drive and fixed them all.

then about 9 rows of numbers. with hidden files, user files, 4875758745 ???? available on disk...ect......
