Help with internet please!!

Friend just built a comp... E6600 Conroe, 1GB of RAM, 7600Gt. He has the internet cable connected but he can't get on... I don't know why. Anything we can do? Please help reply or IM on aim @ amdpwnz0r

You didn't need to make two threads..... Anyway, check all connections, test with another computer if possible, restart the router/modem, make sure it's set to detect an IP automatically, etc..

The reason i made 2 is because it kept giving me errors when i tried to make one.. it always does that..all connections work.. the last computer that was on there had internet.. its actualy online right now. his just wont connect

it might be his Network Card. When you plug the Cat5 into the Network Card do lights shine? if not that means he doesnt have it installed right.

Ive just spoke to him in PM, im guessing he needs to install his NIC drivers. Hes gonna get back about it when he can check the computer
