Default Help, i cant get my mic to work

the pc i am using is on win98 and i have two mics that i know that work on my other pc dont work on here, i tried the voice recorder and changed the outputs i have on the back of my pc,i dont know what sound card i have or anything, i have a VIOP(i think it is that) and no one can hear me talk on that or sound recorder is there some setting i can change?

Is the mic muted or is it actually on? Has a mic worked on the 98 comp ever before? It could just be age you know...

Check in the audio settings to see if the volume is all the way up, it is off by default.

if you need drivers for it your win98 might not be detecting them
