well truly i some how moved it to another folder and left it alone for a while and then scanned it and then i could delete it but three days after that i just reformatted my HDD and reinstalled XP

just an opinion, avast has a very annoying interface, atleast the version I used
however i didn't keep avast long enough to see how affective it was

Yes, avast is probably one of the best free anti-virus programs out there, and you can get it and all you have to do is update the license once a year, which is free via the site.

I've never run into any problems with it.
