Default Help with finding a graphics card.

im thinking of buying a graphics card with a price up to around 250 i guess, maybe a bit better. My specs are...

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual-Core QL-65 (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 2814MB RAM
Page File: 1073MB used, 4781MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2
Card name: ATI Radeon 3100 Graphic
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)

dont know what specs i need so i just put most stuff from the dxdiag. anyways, ive been looking forever for a very good graphics card around 250 but i cant find a decent wesite to look at. so if you could suggest some graphics card that would be very nice Thanks everyone!

The games i mostly want to play are team fortress 2 , Half Life 2, Arkham Asylum, and maybe BF:BC2 when its released. Lol maybe even l4d2. thx

^ that. You'll need a good PSU.

Newegg.com is usually the best place to look if you're in the US or Canada.

I would get a HD 5770 1GB. Anything more than that will be bottlenecked by your CPU. Post your PSU, you may need to get new one.

EDIT: XGA?!?! What year is this? 1995?! lol what model is your monitor, I bet it supports a lot higher resolutions than that.

PSU is power supply. Open your case and its the box with all the wires coming from it.
