Default Help!! In Dire Need Of Help!

If someone watched porn on your computer and your computer recieved one pop up saying "your computer has history of porn sites; use this software to clean your history", would that harm your computer a lot? my computer seems somewhat fine, but if it was infected will my computer become more damaged as time goes by??

THANKS!

Do NOT click the "Use this software to clean your history" option. Download the following programs (all free):

AdAware
CCleaner
Spybot Search and Destroy

See if that gets rid of the problem; you have spyware which could potentially become dangerous but most likely will just slow down your computer by a lot. I highly reccommend removing it.

Ok, first off... did you install whatever software the popup offered? If so, go to the control panel and uninstall it.

Than go to google... type in Cleanup! (the website is under the name steven gould)... install the program... dont do the demo and run the program... when its done it will ask you if you want to log off to remove temporary files being used... click ok... and your computer should be fine.

Its not a big deal, but the program might have put stuff in places you wouldnt find it, thus using the program to fetch them out.

Wow, here is another person that has been gifted with the joy of having spyware on his computer. Now we all know that you can get spyware from going to pretty much any site these days and there are good ways of killing these little mean buggers. Spybot and Adaware are the leading dudes when it comes to killing off them evil pop-ups and mean re-direct programs that make me go crazy.

So to answer your question. Never ever ever ever click on anything that pops up without warning. Just remember this rule when it comes to Pop up's and spyware, You will never win millions of dollars by clicking NOW, Pop up cleaners should never be Advertised with a POP UP. Google everything if your not sure about something.
