That question is like asking, I need to pick a good hubcap for my car, what should I get? Well, we'd kind of need to know what brand and model car you have.

In other words, Intel? AMD?

What motherboard is this processor going to inhabit, or do you even have a motherboard?

Give us something to work with.

Hey guys I need you to fly over to my house, look at my computer, pick out a cpu, install it for me, and make sure everything works for 2 years minimum.

Thanks

Lol sorry might have been a little over the top.

This question is what forums are all about though if you give the right information for us to go with. This is what starts the battles of whats better and whats not, therefore leading the forums in the right direction.

Just saying..

If you don't have a specific platform in mind, the FX-4300 is a viable option.

Newegg.com - AMD FX-4300 Vishera 3.8GHz (4.0GHz) Socket AM3+ 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor FD4300WMHKBOX

What is total budget? And do you already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse?

Best bang for the bucks right now in an Intel CPU would be the i5-3750K.

There is no such thing as a i5-3750K. Either you meant i5-3570k or i7-3770k.
