help building computer

hello,

i am building a custom computer and i need some help. In front of the case, there is a small black and white screen, with a green led for power. there is a standard power cable coming out of the back of this, which i plugged in to my powersupply. There is also a white and orange thin cable that comes from the same spot as the led and screen. I plugged this into my motherboard, as the manual instructed me to. everything appears to be ok, but it wont turn on. any help? much appreciated.

isn't the green one supposed to plug into the Mobo as well, and not the power supply??

there is a slot on the mobo but the cable wont reach

if it can't reach teh spot on the mobo, how can that reach teh powersupply?
