Default HELP! BSOD error

Hey all, I received a BSOD error after installing photoshop CS4. I tried to do system restore but it wouldn't let me procede after I clicked the next button. Also, it wouldn't let me uninstall CS4 photoshop. I am able to access Safe Mode fine. I am able to load up in normal mode fine provided I DO NOT put it on normal startup mode but instead but it on diagnosis startup. I'm not sure what to do so any help would be awesome! Is there a way to do a system restore in dos? Also, the BSOD error usually doesn't occur immediately but occurs after 5 mins of time.

thanks all.

OMG I barely recovered. I still need help though I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it functional: so far I've isolated the prob so that I can start up with just running system items etc.

I still need help. Can anyone help?

i really need help...

I'd backup what you need and then reformat.

Ok, I didn't know if I could try doing the repair install first?

What's the best way to backup my data. The windows backup fails each time I try to use it.
