Hey folks, noob here. I'm having an issue with my laptop and I thought I'd come straight to the experts to get some help.
I own a Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook. It's served me relatively well for several years, but now I'm having issues.
When I first turn the computer on, I get an error message that says the computer does not recognize the charger, and that this will effect both the system's performance and the battery's ability to charge. Sure enough, my system is slower than normal and the battery won't hold a charge.
I tried to charge the battery with another, newer charger (same model). I didn't get the error message, but the battery STILL won't charge...even when the charger is unplugged, the display indicates that the computer is running on AC power.
What the heck is going on, and what do I do about it?
ETA: After reading one of the stickies...I'm running Windows XP Home, if that helps.
