help with 5.1 surround

i have got a asus 87n8x-e motherboard with a nvida n force sound chip.
i have just boughta 5.1 surround sound system.i cant get three of the speakers to work i have got all the options set to 5.1 surround sound and tryed all the wires in the back.

has anyone got the same motherboard with a 5.1 surround sound system working.ehat could tell me what there setting are

when i do a test to see if the speakers are working the center one works but when i play music in winamp or any other program the center doesnt work
