Default help

i just bought this

i go to put in it my compaq presario s6200cl and i doesnt turn on
i need some help

Is the switch on the back of the power supply turned on?

Did you connect all the wires right? There may be a 4 pin connector to plug into the mobo along with the 20 pin connector. Make sure it's plugged in and the switch on the back is on.

Are you getting any power to the motherboard?

If the power supply is plugged into a power strip, is that turned on?

LOL. That answered my question. I was wondering if it was even powering up and getting power to the mobo. I guess I should have put it that way in the first place.

So you push the button on the case and nothing happens? Check to make sure the wires to the power button are connected to the motherboard. if they are, and it's still not powering up, you can test the power supply using this method: How To: Jump Start A Power Supply (PSU) / Test A Power Supply And Components

ok that worked and i tried it on a different computer and it turned on
now it still doesnt work on the compaq

The only thing I can think of is to make sure all wires are connected properly including the one's going to the front panel of the case.

yeah i took off the front plastic and pushed the button maullauly and it still didnt work
