Default Help!

ok so i tried to install a DVD writer in my computer temporarly and then when i try to boot it says my active partition isnt set ok so i boot into UBCD and i set my vista partition as active, then i restarted it says my NTDLR is missing

how can a DVD writer cause this, and how the hell do i fix it w\o a bootable version of vista??

So you installed a DVD burner and now it's not booting Windows? I would double check the jumpers on your DVD burner. It looks like you're using IDE drives from your sig. Put the burner on Cable Select and double check BIOS to check the boot order again. Make sure nothing is in the burner too.

That's weird. Somehow your hard drive's boot sector got messed up somewhere in there.

Does it work when you remove the DVD drive? If so, is there a disc in the DVD drive?

no, after i got the error i unplugged the burner, still didnt work, so i put both my HDD's on cable select and it still didnt boot, so i went into the UBCD and changed that.
