one of my boys has a comp wit windows 98 n when he starts his comp it freezes n the icons in the corner where clock is doesnt shows up even the clock doesnt show up n somethin shows up bout the colors

Reformat the computer, look it up on google, and do it.

i think ur 'boy' must a bin messin with things he shouldn't, or maybe letting too many viruses and spyware through. Best bet is a re-format...it always fixes anythin lol (unless its a hardware problem)
