hi if just bought a new heatsink fan a artic freezer 7 pro. I removed my old heatsink and fan which uses screws. Everything so easy untill this point. The mobo has a plate that is attached from the back that the old heatsink screwed into. The problem is i cant seem to find a way to remove this. heres what is looks like # 24 on the list http://computershopper.com/feature/75-pc-building-tips-cpu-and-heat-sink-installation plz help me beacuse i have this new fan and that uses the pins and i cant install it.

i found a post where a guy had a simmilar problem but it doesnt show how or say what he did to remove the rings plz help my cpu is running hot.

You will need to remove the motherboard to get to the backplate. This shouldn't be difficult. All you have to do is remove a few screws.
