HDD wont pick up

On my computer i have 1 74 gb raptor and a 200gb cavair

now the raptor reads fine its in SATA 1

and i just changed my 200gb from SATA 2 (which where it didnt pick up either)

to SATA 3 and that also didn't work ...


Idk what im doing so wrong, i dont need to set the thing to master/slave cuz its SATA so idk

Strange. Is the 200gb caviar a SATA II hard drive? and does your motherboard support SATA II?

I recall that you bought from newegg, mind linking me to the hard drives and the motherboard?

SATA III? Wow i have never heard of that. Make sure your Caviar supports SATA II because they make models which only support SATA I. and make sure your mobo supports SATA II...

Edit: I remember from your other post about your new build... you have an asus a8n5x mobo right? Well i went to their website and looked for that board and according to the product specs it doesnt support SATAII. http://usa.asus.com/products3.aspx?l1=3&l2=15&l3=207&slname=NVIDIA nForce4

try running the caviar in SATA I. it should work then.

Good luck, but I'm preety sure there is a setting that you have to modify in the BIOS.

fixed it
