Default HDD Question

Is there a big difference b/w these 2 drives and is it worth the extra $20 to get the more expensive one?
WD1001FALS ($120): http://www.pcvonline.com/productDeta...px?prodID=7601
WD10EADS ($100): http://www.pcvonline.com/productDeta...px?prodID=8286

Thx.

The $120 one is Western Digitals Black Series which offers more performance

The $100 one is Western Digitals Green Series which offers less power usage, less noise and less heat then normal hard drives.

But both of those items you can get at a cheaper site. Which is here:

Western Digital Black Edition 1TB $100 with free shipping

Western Digital Green Edition $90 with free shipping

Forgot to mention those prices are CAD.

Which would you choose with the difference in price?

Oh ok i didnt know it was in cad, i just saw the dollar sign. my bad.

But ah If you look at this review: Tech Report 1TB Review (The Green Drive is listed as the Caviar GP in benchmarks) The green series drive will be alot slower than the black series drive at installing and loading games, booting up windows, copying etc. But the green series drive is quieter and uses less power than the black drive.

So basically if you want stuff to load faster, install faster go for the black series drive. its worth the extra $20. But if it doesnt really matter to you and you kinda just want a quiet, cheaper hard drive go for the Green drive
