I have my old Geforce 5200's heatsink. I was planning to use Hot glue and GLUE the heatsink to the HDD. Is it safe?

That was rude.
But to answer your question. There is not enough airflow over the drive. As you have brought up before you have a cooling issue with the case.

I have to agree I was rude. sorry

But, to answer people, I have a heatsink. To save ne hat $9.99 (not $4 here) and put it in my bank for the videocard and such, I was thinking to see if the hard drive would run cooler with the heatsink. I don't have a lot ofmoney, and I don't work. I have studies and I cannot work at the same time. But, I do get summer jobs.

If you start putting glue on the HDD, you could get components and damage them, not worth it.

If you put it on the bottomwhere the controller is, Ok, it would damage them. But on the metal side, I doubt it

i dont think it would even make a difference and u probably dont need it anyways, how hot is the hard drive?
