hdd help required

hi,
i have just installed a second hard drive (80 gig). any way, i have set it to slave 16 logical head. it is showing in my device manager, but not in when i click on my computer. it shows the master hdd as usual, but not the new one. do you think it might need to be formated? and how would i do it?

yeh use the formatter in windows xp in administrative tools > Disk Management or make a boot disk and then format it from there. Either of them should work
