I've always found xcopy to be superb as long as the file path isn't too long!

Do you by any chance remember those switches as the word "hickery"?

What happens if the file path is too long? Will it just fail to copy?

Can I at least try x copy first and then use a program if it doesn't work?

Hi again,

Just to let you know I followed your instructions and everything went well.

In the end I used the xcopy command and 8 hours later 1.3TB was copied across, I then rearranged the drive letters to there original state, and everything is working like nothing had ever changed.

I now have a newer bigger 2tb HDD, thnk god I decided to use a separate HDD for windows 7 when I built the system.

Thanks
