Does having a SATA hdd with 16MB cache have much performance difference compared to one that is 8MB? I know it helps with the read/write of the drive, but for a $10 higher price for a 160gb, is it worth it?

I'd say it's worth it. It can keep more data in the cache for faster finds of stuff you were just doing. I don't exactly know how it all works, but something like that. I would get a 16MB cache drive over an 8MB. Both of my SATAs are 16MB cache.

Good for you. It isn't once of those differences that can only be measured by a program. Had you bought the 8mb and the 16mb one you would notice a difference in the speed of your hdd.
