Default HD Radeon 7850 adapter

Just a Quick question, does anybody know what sort of adapter the higher DVI connector takes on this picture. Obviously is a DVI but it does not have the 4 pins like the one below it..

Tried looking for a DVI like it but they all require a 4 pin connection..

A friend has since told me that I require a DVI-D adapter to connect to the secondary adapter..

Your friend is right. Most modern monitors have DVI connections as well.
