Default HD Dead

Hi, my 500GB has died, and it had alot of stuff on there (music). It's recognized at boot and inside of windows, but when I try to access it the program requiring access hangs, or in explorers case just keeps trying to access with no success

What options do I have. Some fancy software or merly booting into recovery console with the drive plugged in and try copying files through a command line interface?

Default Re: HD Dead

Your liable to have to send your HD (expensive) to one of those data recovery places.
