As swoot as this is, I still maintain that the 4850 offers a better price/performance ratio.

Wait.. so the higher end ATI 4xxx is faster then the lower end Nvidia 2xx? Hows that work out?

Cheaper is how it works out. Two 4850's in crossfire will come close and sometimes beat a 280.

The HD 4870 is $299, the GTX 260 is $399. And it even beats the $650 280 in a few benchmarks.

Anandtech reviews HD 4870: This generation belongs to ATi.

Woah.....they're beast-like! Two of them beat three 280s xD ...but then again, Valve optimizes for ATI...

The 4870 is now on Newegg!
