We all know though that if Nvidia comes out with a 8800 Ultra X2 it's game over.

Nvidia has always had the better engineers and designers, just like Chevrolet does. The company that pays for the better builders always makes the better products. AMD should liquidate ATI and sell what's left of it to Nvidia just so they can come out with better stuff.
