Having Problem

ok, I installed my new mb, a msi 790FX, and a phenom, and when I go to start up windows, it just goes to the windows xp boot screen then restarts automatically. I'm not sure if I need to update bios for it to supprt the phenom and put back my dual core, or what but when I try to re-install windows it loads the disk and files, and after t says windows is starting up or w/e it gives me a blue screen. plz help asap, im at school and have no other computer at home. edit: there is no beeps or anything.

well can you get onto the bios or anything and make sure that the lil speaker for the beeps are in the right pins

have you installed xp on it?

yeah i can get into the bios and everything and yes i have xp on it.

have a look for your cpu on here and see what bios verson it needs

if everything is ok there, then i think it would be a software related, e.g. an xp error somewhere
