Default Hardware problem

ok here my big problem.
I had my grandparents give me there old computer and I installed windows xp on it. but I installed it on the wrong part of the hd because there tech guy was stupid and partinioned the hd so I formatted the part with the other windows which was messing up xp. but now i can't get xp to run so I'm going crazy anythingi can do?

Um...why not repartition it, reformat, and reinstall?

DIDDO, just formate it. You dont need the other os anyways.

I did that but never mind another problem has arisen...
I've setted the bios to check the cd before checking the hd but now when I try installiong xp it keeps going to the setup even though I've already done the setup.
why is this happening?
