Is this hardware Compatible

I got windows 7 pro, dual booted with ubuntu and macosx(doesn't work) but always use windows. But it doesn't really matter. It doesn't get as far as grub. Can't even enter bios. I know this is very not smart of me, but I tried plugging in my main HD after it passes the bios, but not yet to the boot loader, and it works fine. At least it starts to boot windows. But that's a very bad idea, and shouldn't be done, I think...
