Default Hardrive Problems

Yes ive built my first computer. I installed a hardrive but when i go into the BIOS its no reading it. Ive looked at like everything tried diffrent sata ports made sure its in good, nothing. Any got any suggestions please. The hard drive is a Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10,000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s Hard Drive. Mobo:P5E3 Premium Asus

Have you checked your BIOS settings?

You enter the BIOS or Basic Input Output System by pressing the F2 or Delete key during start-up.

If you don't have a motherboard manual you can download it from the ASUS site. I was there looking at your motherboard a minute ago.

Ya thats were i found out that its not picking it up. I got to sata port obeject one is the cdrom which it picks up and the second the hardrive which it doesnt pick up.

Make sure you have the RAID drivers installed.

make sure your ATA IS on, and AHCP turned off

It might be your MB doesn't recognise the new drive so a BIOS FLASH my be needed, go to your MB website and check the compatibility with your MB.
