Default Hardrive

If I buy a new hardrive for my computer, is the hardrive the same thing as a CD ROM that you put the discs in? or is it different. Cause if its the same thingI dont have to buy a new one?

No. A hard drive is a disk that you may connect to your computer either internally or externally. It is not very big, but it holds a lot of information. Just type in "What is a hard drive" on google and browse around. There will be many good results for you to speculate.

this is what it looks like

hard drives do not use interchangable disks. it works as a internal(or externaml) drive where your programs are stored on
