Default Harddrive(s) making odd noises, wtf is wrong with them?

My Dell poweredge has 2 hdd's in it, that have been making odd noises and have been corrupting themselves, it wasnt until i read a reveiw on a similar drive that i put this together, and I think my hard drives might be dying.

My dad, who obviously doesnt give a crap, says their fine and that they make those *very odd hydraulic pump sounds* all the time and that the corruption is the os I am using.

Have tried 7 Os's (in that order:XP,XP,XP,2000,XP,7,XP) and they have all corrupted.

If it is failing, I want to put Server 2003 on it and get rid of it before they become a problem.

if its starting to make noises I believe the hard-drive will fail soon. I can believe you have put 7 OS's on there and they have all corupted. You might be best off getting a cheap hard-drive from ebay
