Question Hard drive tester

I have a tester to check my power supply where can I get a tester to test my hard drive? I took my hard drive to the local computer shop to have my HD tested and they charged me $20. bucks just to plug it into their tester. So I would like to buy my own. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Just go the the drive manufacturer's website and download their drive utility software. Most have software that will fully test and analyze the drive.

Thanks for the reply Atomic Rooster, I did what you said and they did have a download for testing your hard drive. I just thought with todays technology that they might have a meter that you could hook up to the hd and test it.

Thanks for you input
