Default hard drive swap

can i swap an xp based hard drive into another xp based computer either as primary drive or slave drive and have the memory and programs stay useable? thanks JESSE

im pretty sure u cant swap a drive that has the OS on it. Because of different hardware. if it has just random files.. like a data drive then thats fine. i've dont that millions a times

If you swap it in as a slave, you will not be able to use the programs installed on that drive as the registry entries aren't setup and registered with the OS installed on the main drive. You can swap it into a new comp as master, but there has to be a few things done before the move. This tutorial will show you how: Swapping your board without so much as a reinstall.
