Default Hard Drive Rpm

If i get a new 10,000 RPM raptor for my computer, would i see better PERFORMANCE in games and apps like photoshop/ after effects if I install

1) The OS on the hard drive
2)The games on the hard drive

You would see a small increase in performace when its trying to read files off of the drive. Also make sure that it has a large enough cache.

In my experience it really isn't worth the extra money though.

if you really want a speed increase
buy a solid state drive
apparently its crazy

Yes, they are really fast. Shame they are so expensive at the moment. Although I am sure like everything they will come right down in price soon

Well...you need an OS to run the games, so if you just installed the games you wouldn't be getting anywhere...
